Quality education is the key to any form of societal development and personal success. Education, too, is an influential tool that can be used to change the world. However, it is prudent for education to be accessible and relevant to students in order to construct a future-readier faculty.
Dr Desmond Teo Yen Koon understood the importance of education at an early age and sought to involve himself in educational activities at various institutions to spearhead more research and development and cultivate a more innovative and nurturing educational system. This led him to be granted the Honorary Doctorate from the International American University. Fuelled by his desire to facilitate a more inclusive university culture as well as relevant and appropriate university curriculums at the International American University, Dr Desmond Teo Yen Koon also became an honorary advisor to the management body of the university.
